I’m going to the WDW Halloween Party in early October as Merida and I cannot find an accurate wig for her that’s not ridiculously expensive, any suggestions? I’ll need an adult wig btw, it doesn’t have to be specifically inspired by Merida either, as long as it looks a great deal like her hair.

Sooo, just read about the new Disney ice show, apparently it’ll be called “Rockin’ Ever After” and will involve Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, and Merida competing in a talent show. Yup, you heard that right, shy Belle in a talent show. Ariel and Rapunzel I can see but Belle? We’ll see.
Anyways, what makes this ice show so interesting (I actually want to see it!) is that the Princesses will be competing against eachother, maybe even a good old-fashioned Desperate Disney Housewives/Archers throwdown will even ensue on ice ;D? We wont know until November when if I read right, that’s when it will be released.
Either way, it sounds interesting and different from Disney’s other ice shows for ‘sho!
Knowing Mickey and his mischievious ways he’ll probably make the whole competition rigged and say “everyone’s a winner” (lol….very overused and tiring aesop! SOMEBODY should be the winner c’mon ;D!) which would be for the worst since Merida has her bow and arrow handy! Watch out!
I actually hope someone WILL “win” and the ice show looks cheesy but really interesting and fresh :)!

So I finally saw “Brave” a few nights ago and it was great, and while the others characters were very endearing I loved Merida! She’s so different from the other Princesses. Why you say? Because she’s strong, independent, and can take care of herself? NOPE! That’s been done before, in fact many, many times.
The reason Merida’s so different is becase she’s NOT PERFECT! That’s right, she’s an anti-hero! She’s selfish, cocky, teasing, mischievious, and even funny (A PRINCESS…funny? How could that be unless you’re like Charlotte Labouff or something? Well, she is!) and that’s what made me adore her so much :)!
I haven’t seen a more personality flawed Princess (excluding Meg who’s amazing but sadly not an official Princess) in my life, she was amazing!
Not only that, she was the first Princess to not get married which is also a first!
It also shocked me that she wasn’t quite as “brave” as I thought (which is great cause I’m a total wimp so I can connect lol!), I mean she was risky for sure, but she screamed everytime she saw Mor’du in the most girlish way lol, plus she didn’t even kill him! Mama Bear did most of the work, but neither of them really killed him (I won’t say HOW he got killed though!)
But I loved her alot! Even more than I thought I would!
And as for the other characters, I can honestly say I loved them all! Usually in Disney movies there’s always one character that ticks me off (examples: Little Mermaid: King Triton, Toy Story 3: Big Baby, Aladdin: Jasmine, ect) but in Brave each character was appealing in their own way. Even the witch who was very funny, even if I expected her to be a more serious character for some odd reason.
Also, the Quen was great as well, at the beginning she was the epitome of the mother that nobody wishes to have, while still being entertaining while doing so, but you still couldn’t help but love her! Especially by the end and when she’s a bear, I have to say Mama Bear was absolutely HILARIOUS!
And as for Fergus, he was very funny and entertaining, I loved his impression of Merida and it also surprised me how he was somewhat of a “villain” in certain points of the story. He was great!
And the brothers, wow, it surprised me how they hardly got any screentime, especially as bears, Disney marketed them like they were going to play as large of a role as Mama Bear played which was far from true, they only have like two scenes in my climax of the movie and then, BOOM, humans! They were so cute as bears though, I wish they had more screentime :(!
Oh and Mor’du, ummm, he was beary, beary scary! Scariest bear I’ve ever seen in a film! I guess I was just expecting, since it was Pixar, he was going to be hot pink and smell like strawberries but boy, I was wrong!
As for the Lords, I LOVED LOVED them! They were actually really hilarious, and Lord Dingwall when he spoke umm, I was expecting a far more cartoony voice but it was actually relatively normal. I loved Macintosh’s temper tantrum and Macguffin’s speech issues were quite funny.
And as for the witch, like I said she was funny but didn’t have too much screentime! I found her entertaining and her character was definitely not what I was expecting!
And finally, I LOOOVED Maudie! I wasn’t expecting her to have that big of a role but she was hilarious how she would pop up randomly and scream over whatever was happening! Poor Maudie!
But long story short, I loved the movie and Merida’s my favorite Princess along with Ariel now :)!
